Take the Opportunity to Leave
Trebor stares at the man but doesn’t know what to say. He whispers, “I’m sorry” and walks toward the bus stop.
He can’t get the image of the weeping man out of his head. He wonders if he should’ve said something. At least I gave him something and shared my faith with him. That thought consoles him for the moment.
He gets off the bus and walks home. I hope I see John again one day.
Trebor makes it home and strolls into his house and up the stairs.
His mother walks out of her bedroom and says, “Hello dear. Before you get too comfortable, can you go to the store and get a cake?”
Trebor nods with a smile.
“How was your day, dear?”
“I met a guy today and I felt so helpless to help him.”
The End.
