Take the Little Girl’s Bike
Trebor is a rule keeper. He never imagined that he’d be so desperate to steal. However, as unrealistic as it sounds, he plans on returning the girl’s bike to her. No time to worry about logistics, if those huge dudes catch up to him, they might just kill him.
Trebor picks up the girl, no older than 7 years old, and carefully carries her off the pink bike. She screams at the top of her lungs.
“I’m so sorry,” he says. “I’m just trying to stay alive. I’ll bring it back. I promise.”
He mounts the bike and it’s going to be an uncomfortable ride. At the same time, a woman, presumably her mother, comes rushing out of the house and yelling at him with a phone to her ear.
“Stop right now!” she points at Trebor and then yells into the phone, “Hispanic teenager…” and she went on to describe the way he was dressed… “riding a pink little girls’ bike. I think he’s got a gun.”
Great. I’m an armed criminal on a hijacked pink bike.
Trebor takes off and realizes that the bike is only a little faster than running. He looks back and the huge dudes are finally losing steam. Before long they’re out of sight. He wonders how many Instagram and Twitter feeds he made riding that bike at full speed. But he can’t keep on with the bike. He has to decide what needs to be done. He remembers what he promised the little girl but he also has to be smart here.
What should he do?
