Wait for the Next Bus

Trebor is tired. He decides to wait for the next bus. He waits, what feels like an eternity, before a bus arrives and he boards.

A few stops later, a few girls from a nearby Catholic high school enter. Trebor finds one girl, in particular, to be very pretty. He’s seen her on the bus before but usually in the mornings and not for several weeks. He had even tried catching the bus at different times to increase his odds of seeing her again and now here she is, sitting across from him.

He fears that the school year might end without him ever meeting her. His heart feels like it’s trying to break out of his chest. He can feel his armpits moistening. He swallows hard and really wants to talk to her. But he’s never actually talked to her before. What if she finds it creepy if he talks to her cold turkey? And if he does talk to her, what will he say?

This is his most desperate hour. What should he do?
